Recipe

Sushi Taco Adlai

Saw Bretman Rock casually eating one of these and couldn't stop thinking about it. So we finally made our own version. With leftover adlai, because of course.

Instructions

  1. Marinate the Salmon

Cube the salmon and marinate with light soy sauce, sesame oil, and pepper. Toss well and set aside.

  2. Season the Adlai

Mix cooked adlai with rice vinegar, coco sugar, and salt. Toss until well combined and set aside.

  3. Make the Spicy Mayo

In a small bowl, mix Japanese mayo and sriracha together until smooth. Adjust heat level to your preference.

  4. Assemble

Press a generous layer of seasoned adlai onto the center of the nori sheet. Layer with avocado slices, marinated salmon cubes, and cream cheese. Drizzle with spicy mayo.

  5. Fold and Serve

Fold the nori up like a taco and serve immediately.

Chef's Notes

Don't skip the spicy mayo, it ties everything together. This one comes together in under 30 minutes and looks way more impressive than the effort it takes. And if you want a little crunch, try air frying the assembled nori for a couple of minutes. It crisps up the edges just enough to make it feel like a whole different dish.
